We will operate Wednesday April 24th. Please plan to arrive at 7:00PM (or earlier).
We have enough operators to run a session, but there is room for one more on the Call Board. Thank you for signing up.
We will be running in fast time on the night trick (formerly called the Sequence B schedule) with the car card (CC) and waybill (WB) system that I introduced last year. Paul Cupp and Doug Dederick will be the CTC Dispatchers.
The telephone system has been completely revamped. Four big changes: 1 – No more annoying hum. 2 – Each station can now hear other stations, not just the CTC dispatcher. 3 – There is now a blue “in-use” indicator at each station, which aids in knowing when to go “off-hook” and not break into a conversation. 4 – The CTC dispatcher now has a foot switch that he needs to press in order to talk on the phone circuit. This avoids casual conversations at the CTC panel from being mistaken as formal communication from the dispatcher – especially important now that we have two CTC Dispatchers.
There is a surprise regarding the Maintainer Call at Mattsburgh (this is how the CTC Dispatcher calls the Yardmaster), and now also at Abbiville and Lukestown (this is how the CTC Dispatcher calls the local switching crews).
As always, if you don’t want to operate, I will have tables setup in the “crew lounge” for kit building and discussions. Please sign-up on the “Extra Board” if you plan to attend but not operate.
